The 2nd Annual Peter Robinson Golf Tournament was played at Bonaire Golf and Country Club in 2018. We again had a full course with 146 golfers in attendance.
It was a great day with beautiful weather, lots of laughs and even a few drinks. This year we had some extra fun holes. On top of the longest drive and closest to the pin holes we had a case race and a putting ‘pool’ style hole. These holes were well received and many people mentioned they would like to see even more of these types of holes. So the plans for 2019 are to come up with more extra fun holes.
We had a total of 14 Holes sponsored by many generous people and businesses and even had a $10,000 Hole-in-One sponsored by Broker Link Insurance. Special thanks to Peter Mount and Kathy Earle for organizing and donating. There were no winners this year, but lots of great attempts.
In addition to the Hole-in-One, Peter Mount also had Peter Robinson 9 baseball hats made for every player. You might see people wearing them in some of the pictures on this site.
On top of all the golf activities we also had a Silent Auction and a Pie Auction in memory of Peter’s amazing pie auction skills at Unity United Church in Vasey. Thank you so much to all the auction donators, pie makers and prize providers. It is much appreciated.
Of course an amazing day like this could never be possible without the help of so many volunteers! We had people collecting the above mentioned donations, making up teams, collecting money, arranging the amazing Steak dinner provided by Bonaire, selling 50/50 tickets, working the Registration table, sitting at the special extra fun holes to make sure people knew what to do, Charlotte Jones who took the great ‘pool’ shot photos and of course Kevin Cascagnette Photography for doing all the team pictures.
It makes my heart happy that so many people turn out to help and to play but most of all to celebrate Peter Robinson, the most loving, happy, generous, kindest man I have ever met.
