Registration Table

We are always in need of helpers for registration. Some of the duties might include:

  • Checking people/teams off the list when they arrive
  • Letting teams know what hole they are starting at
  • Answering any questions related to the day
  • Possibility collecting money if some teams have not paid ahead
Sign Setters

This may or may not be needed. We will check to see if Orr Lake will be doing it or if we need to make sure the signs are set on the holes before the game starts. This will need to be completed ideally a half an hour before the scheduled tee-off time.

Hole Sitters – non-golfers

This could be a varied job. Some holes that have activities at them need people to instruct the golfers on how the activity works. In some cases we may need 2 people on a hole if someone is needed at the start and near the green. This might be the case in the $10,000 Hole-in-one hole as it has legal requirements.

Depending on what other activities we come up with there could be other holes where we need people to explain about the hole. In a perfect world it would be awesome if there was someone taking pictures of the activity as well. These kinds of things make for great picture opportunities.

Silent Auction Set Up – non-golfers if possible

Silent auction set up would definitely be a job for someone who is not a golfer. Donations will need set up with the proper paperwork attached to enable bidding. It is very important that the proper sheets stay with the right item throughout the day. Some items may arrive in the morning or possibly even later in the day.

Hopefully if you are interested in helping with this you would also consider helping create the auction sheet for the items ahead of time, perhaps as we receive the donations. This is not mandatory as it could easily be two different volunteers.

50/50 Tickets

50/50 tickets will be sold starting when the golfers come back into the clubhouse. It is a good idea to have 2 people selling together so one can rip the tickets while the second makes the change. These volunteers can easily be golfers. They will also be in charge of counting the money and splitting it into 2 envelopes before the draw is made.

Pie Table

Pies will likely be brought in throughout the day. Since there are less pies than silent auction items, I think they could be left on the ‘pie table’ until you are done golfing if you choose to help with this. Again, it is very important to make sure that the sheet remains with the correct pie while people are looking and bidding. You may also be asked to report on the activity to the MC to make sure everyone knows about the bidding.
